tomatos are done!
just harvested a nice tomato crop from my backyard garden, everything came in nice. didn't have to worry about any weeds stealing my plants nutrients and water 'cause i used a heavy dose of homemade weed killer! good ol' vinegar, salt, water, and a little bit of liquid dish soap. i found this sweet homemade concoction at natural weed killer recipe which is somewhat self explanatory. pretty good site that i've been visiting every now and then to see what's new in the world of weed control since i'm such an avid botanist haha. anyways, see you all later.

COLDNESS & PHILOSOPHICAL RANTS
it's getting really chilly up here in new england... i sure do miss that california hothotheat and beautiful warm shining sun in my face. oh well, i'll be back in cali soon enough to visit friends and whatnot. should probably shoot for a winter visit, escape this incredible cold for a while when it's most unbearable. doesn't look like the garden has much left to offer, season is pretty much done for me and my outdoor crops. too bad i don't have any good ol' purple nugs in the sneaky sneaky op. oh well, those days have passed and it's time to move forward without fretting too much over the past. memories seem to have that awesome ability to allow you to relive the past. too bad those memories are often unpleasant and result in a reliving of dreadful moments in time. just need to keep my mind focused on the infinite possibilities of the future while doing the most i can in the present to manifest my dreams into reality.

msma weed killer is great if you like scorched earth
so i've been stuck on this gardening site, or rather it's more about weed control in various situations. anyways, i read an article that convinced me to give the ol' 529 hi-yield msma weed killer a try and it works great. good stuff, not too expensive either. just obliterated everything it came into contact with in a matter of hours. really does the trick well without much effort on my end. just a little squeeze squeeze and the sprayer did the rest of the work.

brother bear
watched a great kids movie the other day, animated magical tale of indians and bears. it's called brother bear and it's a magical adventure through a world lost all so long ago. too bad we didn't adopt more of the native american culture... they weren't necessarily making significant progress, but then again, what is this measure of progress? our ipods and flat screen tvs are not what i consider progress, at least not forward. lateral if anything. widening the banks of our rivers of garbage for the sake of the almighty dollar. that's hopeless. we strive towards our doom and mock those who would question our insanity. what an odd existence this is. perhaps if i'm reincarnated, i'd like to be a cute cuddly bear that does not live in an enclosure and is free to roam the endless woods. god i love kids movies and philosophical rants fueled by sleep deprivation and chronic herb.

lake chill sesh
probably head down to the lake a bit later, chill back and soak up some sun while reading a book. always a good time, as long as nobody attempts to communicate with me while i'm engulfed in the pages of whatever wonderful piece of literature i might happen to be reading.

blah, too much gardening & homemade herbicides kick butt
i'm beat. feel like i've been spending too much time in the garden trying to maintain its beauty even as the weather begins to get a little too cold to be doing much gardening. guess it's one of those stress relief things for me. enjoyable in a hard work, now i feel accomplished, sort of way. i've been doing some minor experimenting with homemade herbicides. i tried a nice blend of soap, water, and vinegar the other day and it worked surprisingly well. seemed to kill most of the small weeds around the garden without any problems. anyways, not too much to say today, just figured i'd spit a quick blurb out for my readers out there. anyways, more later. take care!

aquatic weed control information for the win
i went looking for a bit of info before i truly passed out for the night and i ran into a site, weedkillerweb.com that has a good deal of information about weed killers even though the site appears to be in its infancy. in particular, i found this article about aquatic weed killer solutions that was quite helpful in setting me in the right direction when it comes to resolving my own water weed issues. i'll keep reading and hopefully find something reaallllllyyyy goooddddd
good trees, insomnia, sunshinnneeee
...it sure is hard to find chronic herb out here on the east coast... at least compared to the good ol' left coast with the sunshine state and all its cannabis dispensaries. bah, reminds me that life as i know it is always temporal - subject to change over time. change is the only constant in this life, all that you can be sure of is that things will change. sometimes for the better, other times the worse. changes over the past year have been incredibly hard to adapt to but alas, we are marvelous creatures us humans. adaptation is part of our survival model and we do it quite well. i'm suffering from a little sleep deprivation as my insomnia has been kicking my ass lately but it's mildly entertaining 'cause the result is mindless posts like this one. hah, anyways... til next time!
Pond Algae and Aquatic Weed Killers
So now that I've relocated to the east coast, I've got a fairly decent sized pond on my property that has had some nasty funk growing in it. I didn't care enough to figure out what exactly, I just realized that the intense odor was enough reason to eradicate whatever aquatic weeds were causing the funk. Well, it turns out I really need to put forth a little effort into determining the type of algae in my pond so that I can decide upon a course of action. In particular, what aquatic herbicide to buy to control the stank in my good ol' watering hole. I'll be sure to update my blog here when I get the situation all figured out. In the mean time, wish me luck!
New Blizog Homies
What's up and welcome to my fresh new blog where I fully intend on ranting about random topics but mostly just those that interest me. I've been pretty into gardening in recent years so I'll probably divulge a significant amount of information pertaining to various cultivation techniques that I've familiarized myself with. Anyways, more updates coming soon, for now it's time to hit the hayyyyy.
Sincerely,
Vikter Jawnsin
